Sunday 26th February 2006 - Sidcup Festival Match Report Three teams did exceptionally well at Sidcup. The other three suffered from injury, illness and absence and disappointed on the day. The best results were from the U7, U9 and U12s whom all made the first place finals U7 Maidstone W 9-2 Sidcup B W 6-2 Beckenham W 6-4 Final; Sidcup A L 2-4 U9 Maidstone W 4-0 Old Elthamians W 4-1 Beckenham W 2-1 Final; Colfes L 4-2 U12 Maidstone W 6-0 Old Elthamians W 2-1 Beckenham W 5-1 Final; Old Dartfordians W 5-0 This was the first outright tournament win for the U12 squad - other than plates etc. They played excellent rugby all day and apart from a wobbly patch against OEs were superior to everyone. Darts won their group without conceding a try and were obviously distraught when we ran in five!! The whole squad played well but the stars were Paul Broadhurst and Jack Robertson, the half backs who bossed every game and scored 6 tries each. Ryan Souter at second row dominated the lineouts; Jack Gilgunn at hooker was a one man demolition ball; Jack Murtagh captained the squad at prop and led from the front all day. All in all a great day for Beccs mini rugby. Well done everyone. Robbie
