ColfeiansKent Mini Festival Sunday 2nd April 2006. Under 7’s report. Photos - Stags , Bulls A little explanation in how both Andy and myself set the teams up for the tournament. We have had a single team run out in tournaments before but we have never had the opportunity to show our strength in depth by playing 2 teams, until now. It was decided that the newcomers to the tournament should be interspersed with the players that have had some form of tournament experience. If we had put out a Stags (A team) and Bulls (B team)- we both don’t like the use of the wording A and B and of a strata system for selection - we would have ended up with all the experienced players in one team and the inexperienced players in the other. Having the split of experience in 2 teams would not have benefited the squad in the long run. A team of inexperienced players in the Bulls would probably have come off second best in the matches and done their enthusiasm for the game no good. The whole squad is the future not just one team.
