Sunday 6TH January 2008 Beccehamians 10 v Cranbrook 39 After a long drive down to Cranbrook a roll call was required as we looked a bit depleted, but gradually our numbers swelled to 14 and with the opposition willing to lend us one man it was game on. We were missing four key players and some bulk from the scrum which Cranbrook were able to take advantage of by scoring two early tries, however when we got the ball we moved it well, particularly with Michael linking up nicely with Jack at Fly Half. After the early scores we found some space and Robin ran the ball in from 10 metres out to make it 5 -10. We were then put on the back foot for the rest of the first half, with Cranbrook finding space out wide and poor Spencer at full back often facing a 2 on 1 situation. At half time we were 5-22 down. We held things at the start of the second half but pressure eventually told with Cranbrook running in four more tries, before we were able to finish with a flourish with Robin getting his second try late on.
